Temple of Artemis , Ephesus.
The temple of Artemis was in Ephesus of today’s Turkey. Called Artemisium and built in 440 BC Considered one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world . Notably the fact that it took 120 years to be completed and was originally started by King Lydia , Kroiso.I worship the goddess of the city , started by African women Amazons , the potential Myrrh or Myrina , when conquered Ephesus and erected there the first statue and made sacrifices dances. Pausanias says that the cult of Artemis of Ephesus was founded by indigenous Asia Minor , the Korissos and the son of the local river Kaystros in Ephesus before the Amazons , and of course, long before the advent of the Ionians . Today the remnants not resemble anything in the magnificent temple there .
As mentioned by Antipater of Sidon , who considered the initiator of the list of the seven wonders of the ancient world , the greatness of the temple of Artemis more than any other of the remaining monuments .
“I have seen the magnificent Hanging Gardens Babylon , the Statue of Zeus at Olympia , the Colossus of Rhodes and the Pyramids of Egypt as even the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, but when I see the temple of Diana touches sky the other monuments lose their luster .
